William C. Slieker, 82, of Carmel died on Saturday, November 10 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family. He was born May 30, 1925 in Tilburg, the Netherlands to Cornelius and Jacoba (nee van Hal) Slieker. After the Second World War he left the Netherlands for England, Canada and finally the United States where worked for his entire career as a mechanical engineer. After a 20 year retirement he lived the last three years of his life in Indiana with family. He is survived by his wife Grace, two sons Graham (Mindy) and Lawrence (Melanie), two granddaughters Laura and Heather Slieker and siblings Cornelius Slieker, Henk Slieker, Elisabeth van der Kolk, Cornelia Huijbrechts, Maria van der Meer and Hendrika Slieker, all of the Netherlands.A memorial service followed by internment was performed on Saturday, November 17, 2007 in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN.
